We modernize onboarding, document-heavy processes, client servicing, and reporting through governed automation and responsible AI. About the Role : We’re hiring a Backend Developer to build reliable, secure, and scalable services that power core platform capabilities like workflow execution, entitlements & audit trails, document pipelines, notifications, and integrations with enterprise systems.

This role is ideal for someone who loves backend engineering, understands distributed systems fundamentals, and enjoys owning features end-to-end (design → build → deploy → operate) in a high-ownership environment.

What You’ll Build (Examples)

API-first microservices for workflow, identity/permissions, audit logging, notifications, and integrations
Multi-tenant foundations: tenant isolation, entitlement checks, secure data access patterns
Workflow primitives: tasks, approvals, SLAs, escalations, evidence/trace trails, publish controls
Document pipelines: ingestion, metadata extraction, classification, versioning, secure access and delivery
Integration services: connectors to enterprise systems (CRM/ERP/portfolio/ops tools), event-driven where needed
AI-ready services: source-linking, traceability, and approval workflows that enable responsible AI experiences

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend services and REST/GraphQL APIs
Build cloud-first microservices using TypeScript and Spring Boot (Java)
Implement robust authorization ( RBAC/ABAC ), audit logging, and secure data access patterns
Design and optimize data models (e.g., PostgreSQL/MySQL ) and storage patterns (e.g., object storage like S3/Blob )
Partner with frontend engineers to define clean contracts and deliver seamless experiences
Write clean, testable, performant code; contribute to code reviews and technical design docs
Improve reliability: logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and production issue resolution
Own end-user performance outcomes (latency, throughput, correctness, availability)
Participate in CI/CD, deployments, and continuous improvement of engineering practices
Communicate clearly with US-based stakeholders (async + live)

What We’re Looking For

4–8 years building backend systems in production
Strong proficiency with TypeScript and Spring Boot (or equivalent backend framework)
Strong API fundamentals: REST and/or GraphQL, pagination, auth, error handling, backward compatibility
Solid SQL experience: schema design, indexing, query optimization, migrations
Familiarity with object storage patterns (e.g., S3/Azure Blob) and file processing pipelines
Experience with cloud-first architectures (AWS/Azure), containers (Docker), microservices
Comfort with distributed systems concepts: idempotency, retries, queues, eventual consistency
Strong debugging instincts and a “figure-it-out” mindset

Bonus: Experience with compliance/security, document systems, or institutional/ops-heavy domains. Startup experience is a plus.
