About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head – Supply Chain Management (SCM) to lead end-to-end procurement and supply chain operations for our renewable energy business. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in sourcing and procurement of Solar PV Modules, Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) components, Balance of Plant (BoP) equipment, and related project materials. The role will be responsible for developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, optimizing costs, mitigating supply risks, and ensuring timely material availability for large-scale renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Supply Chain Leadership

Develop and execute SCM strategies aligned with business growth and project execution objectives.
Lead procurement planning for solar and wind energy projects across multiple locations.
Establish robust supply chain processes, governance frameworks, and performance metrics.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and cost competitiveness.

Procurement & Sourcing

Lead strategic sourcing and procurement of:

Solar PV Modules
Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) equipment and components
Inverters, Transformers, Cables, and BoP materials
EPC-related equipment and services

Develop long-term sourcing strategies and vendor partnerships.
Conduct supplier evaluations, negotiations, contract management, and commercial discussions.
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
Identify and onboard new suppliers to strengthen the supply base.
Collaborate closely with Engineering, Projects, Finance, Legal, and Operations teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
Manage supplier performance through regular reviews, audits, and scorecards.

Cost Optimization & Commercial Excellence

Drive procurement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
Analyze market trends, pricing movements, and supply-demand dynamics.
Lead commercial negotiations to secure favorable pricing, payment terms, and contractual conditions.
Develop sourcing strategies to mitigate inflation, foreign exchange, and supply chain risks.

Supply Chain Operations & Risk Management

Ensure timely availability of materials to meet project schedules.
Monitor inventory levels and optimize working capital.
Develop risk mitigation plans for supply disruptions and logistics challenges.
Oversee logistics, warehousing, and transportation strategies where applicable.

Team Leadership

Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing SCM and procurement team.
Define KPIs and performance objectives for team members.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field.
MBA/Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain, Operations, or Procurement preferred.
15+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management and Procurement.
Proven experience in renewable energy, with significant exposure to Solar Modules and WTG procurement.
Strong understanding of procurement contracts, vendor management, logistics, and supply chain planning.
