KAT Compliance Karma Private Limited is a GSP-licensed RegTech company building an end-to-end GST compliance platform for businesses across India. Operating at the intersection of indirect taxation and technology, KAT's platform automates the full GST compliance lifecycle — from ERP data ingestion through reconciliation, return preparation, and GSTN filing — with a particular focus on GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B workflows. KAT holds a GSP licence from GSTN, placing it among a select class of authorised technology intermediaries.

Role Overview

We are looking for a GST Functional Analyst with hands-on GST compliance experience and a strong appetite for technology. The role sits at the intersection of domain expertise and product delivery. You will translate GST law and compliance workflows into precise functional requirements, support platform testing, assist clients in onboarding, and work closely with the development team to ensure the platform reflects real-world compliance needs.

This is not a pure compliance or pure technology role. The ideal candidate understands how GST works in practice and can communicate that understanding clearly to both business stakeholders and software developers.

Key Responsibilities

A. Functional and Domain

• Analyse GST compliance workflows (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-2B reconciliation, RCM, ITC tracking) and translate them into functional specifications and business requirement documents.
• Review ERP-sourced data structures and map them to GSTN schema requirements.
• Identify edge cases in GST law — amendment returns, credit note handling, cross-period ITC, place-of-supply rules — and ensure platform logic accounts for them.
• Monitor GSTN circulars, notifications, and advisory updates; assess impact on platform modules and raise change requests promptly.

B. Product and Testing

• Participate in UAT cycles for new modules and releases — prepare test scenarios, execute test cases, log defects, and validate resolutions.
• Review functional and system design documents produced by the development team for accuracy against GST law and client workflows.
• Work with the Delivery Lead to maintain the product backlog with domain-accurate user stories.

C. Client and Implementation

• Support client onboarding — understand client ERP structures, configure reconciliation templates, and assist in data-readiness assessments.
• Serve as a first-level domain resource for client queries escalated from the compliance team.
• Document client-specific workflows and customisation requirements clearly for development handoff.

D. Collaboration

• Coordinate with the development agency on sprint reviews and feature walkthroughs to ensure domain accuracy.
• Assist in producing training materials, user manuals, and SOPs for the platform.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Education:	B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / LL.B with GST specialisation, or equivalent.
Experience:	2 to 5 years in GST compliance, indirect tax advisory, or a GST-technology role (GSP / ASP / ERP implementation).
GST Knowledge:	Strong working knowledge of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-2B, RCM, ITC provisions, and the GSTN filing ecosystem.
Technology Comfort:	Proficiency in Excel (advanced — VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data validation); familiarity with ERP systems (Tally, SAP, Zoho, or equivalent); ability to read and comment on functional specification documents.
Communication:	Ability to write clear, structured functional notes and articulate compliance logic to a non-legal technical audience.
Attention to Detail:	Comfort working with large datasets, reconciliation discrepancies, and multi-period compliance scenarios.

Good to Have

• Prior experience working with a GSP, ASP, or GST SaaS platform.
• Exposure to API-based GSTN integrations or JSON / Excel data mapping.
• Understanding of ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) concepts in a compliance context.
• Experience drafting BRDs, FSDs, or UAT test scripts.
