We invest exclusively in late-stage to pre-IPO opportunities , partnering with high-quality businesses at a critical inflection point in their next phase of value creation.

Position Overview

Title: Principal – Investments
Location: Mumbai, India
Experience: 8–15 years

Role Summary

We are seeking a high-calibre, commercially astute and execution-oriented Principal to join our senior investment team.

This is an investment-owner role , with end-to-end responsibility across: Sourcing → Underwriting → IC → Structuring & Execution → Portfolio Value Creation → Exit

The Principal will operate with significant autonomy, lead complex transactions, engage directly with promoters, founders and senior advisors, and mentor junior investment professionals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Origination & Investment Evaluation

Build a high-quality pipeline aligned with the fund’s late-stage/pre-IPO mandate.
Develop proprietary sector theses and relationships with promoters, founders, CXOs, bankers, advisors, family offices and PE/VC investors.
Lead commercial, financial and strategic evaluation of opportunities, including market, competitive, management and risk assessment.

2. Underwriting, Valuation & IC

Lead detailed financial modeling, valuation and scenario analysis using DCF, trading comparables, precedent transactions and LBO methodologies.
Underwrite IRR, MOIC and downside protection with strong investment discipline.
Prepare and present institutional-quality IC papers and defend investment recommendations before the Investment Committee.

3. Transaction Structuring & Execution

Lead financial, legal, tax, commercial and technical diligence.
Structure transactions using appropriate instruments, including equity, CCPS, CCDs and mezzanine structures.
Lead negotiations on valuation, governance, investor protections and exit terms.
Drive transaction documentation and execution through closing.

4. Portfolio Management & Value Creation

Represent the fund as a Board Member or Board Observer.
Partner with promoters and management teams on growth, profitability, working capital, governance and institutionalization.
Monitor portfolio performance against the underwriting case and drive corrective actions where required.
Lead exit and monetization strategies, including secondary sales, strategic transactions and IPO readiness.

5. Team & Platform Building

Mentor Analysts and Associates and raise the quality of investment execution across the team.
Contribute to investment frameworks, processes, proprietary sourcing and the broader growth of the platform.

Candidate Profile

8–15 years of relevant buy-side or transactional experience in Private Equity, Growth Equity, Venture Capital, Investment Banking or Corporate M&A.
Proven, referenceable track record of originating, underwriting and closing transactions in India .
Ability to independently own the investment lifecycle from sourcing through execution and portfolio management.
Strong financial, valuation and commercial acumen with excellent investment judgment.
Exceptional communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills.
High ownership, intellectual independence and execution orientation.
CA / MBA / PGDM / B.Tech / M.Tech from a premier institution such as IIT, BITS, IIM, ISB or an equivalent leading global institution preferred.
