About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Estimation Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will support the preparation of accurate cost estimates, technical proposals, and material requirements for industrial conveyor systems and bulk material handling projects. You will work closely with senior engineers, the design team, and vendors to ensure proposals are competitive, technically sound, and aligned with client specifications.

Key Responsibilities

RFQ Analysis: Review client Request for Quotations (RFQs), tender documents, technical specifications, and layout drawings to understand project scope and requirements.
Cost Estimation: Assist in calculating the costs of materials, labor, manufacturing, and engineering for various conveyor systems (e.g., belt conveyors, wash box systems).
Material Take-Off: Prepare accurate Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and Bill of Materials (BOM) for mechanical components such as belts, pulleys, idlers, drives, and structural steel.
Technical Support: Assist with preliminary technical calculations, including basic belt specifications, conveyor counts, and preliminary chute design parameters.
Vendor Coordination: Float inquiries to suppliers and sub-contractors, evaluate their quotations for commercial and technical alignment, and negotiate basic pricing.
Proposal Preparation: Help compile comprehensive technical and commercial proposals, ensuring all documentation is accurate and submitted within deadlines.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate internally with design, procurement, and project management teams to clarify technical details and ensure seamless project handover upon order realization.

Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Experience: Minimum 1 year of proven experience in estimation, design, or proposal engineering, specifically within bulk material handling, industrial automation, or conveyor systems.
Technical Knowledge: Foundational understanding of conveyor components, material flow dynamics, and manufacturing processes.

Software Proficiency : * Strong proficiency in MS Excel for complex costing sheets.

Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar 2D/3D software to read and interpret engineering drawings and GA (General Arrangement) layouts.

Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, high attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal English communication skills for client and vendor interactions.
