Job Summary

Focus: Load & Performance Regression Testing

We are looking for a high-impact Performance Test Engineer for a two-month period to bolster our load testing capacity. You will focus on running regression suites for existing services and onboarding new services into our load-testing lifecycle. Your goal is to work alongside our existing load test function to catch performance regressions and highlight technical risks to our engineering teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

● Rapid Execution: Run automated load tests using Gatling and Scala -with some requirements for designing and creating scripts.

● Regression Testing: Execute standard load profiles to ensure updates haven't negatively impacted service performance.

● Engineering Partnership: Work directly with developers to troubleshoot bottlenecks and provide data-driven recommendations for fixes.

● Risk Reporting: Analyse metrics (latency, throughput, error rates) and clearly flag performance risks to stakeholders.

● Tooling: Use Jenkins and Docker to trigger tests and AWS to monitor environment health.

 

Key Deliverables (8-Week Window)

1. New Service Onboarding: Script and execute initial load tests for upcoming service launches.

2. Regression Reports: Clear "Pass/Fail" reporting against baseline performance for existing services.

3. Risk Log: A documented list of identified bottlenecks and architectural concerns shared with the Engineering lead.

4. Capacity Support: Final validation of system limits in preparation for high-traffic "Key Events."

 

Essential Skills

● Gatling & Scala: Proven ability to write and debug scripts independently from day one.

● Environment: Proficiency with AWS, Docker, and Jenkins pipelines.

● Agile Integration: Experience working in fast-paced teams alongside developers.

Desirable (Nice to Have)

● Akamai CloudTest: Experience using CloudTest for large-scale global load testing.
● OTT/Streaming Experience: Familiarity with performance challenges unique to media/video delivery.
