Power BI / Business Applications Reporting Consultant

Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, Power BI, Oracle/ERP, Power
Platform, SharePoint, Excel, SQL/data sources, and other
UDC business systems
1. Role Purpose
The resource will support UDC’s reporting, analytics and business application
data requirements by developing Power
BI dashboards and providing data/reporting support across Microsoft Dynamics
365 CRM, Oracle/ERP and other UDC
systems. The role is expected to go beyond dashboard development by
understanding source systems, validating data,
supporting integrations, coordinating with business users and ensuring reports
are secure, accurate, timely and
aligned with UDC operational and management reporting needs.
2. Key Responsibilities
Power BI Reporting and Analytics
• Design, develop, publish and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, KPI
scorecards and executive-level analytics
for management and business departments.
• Build efficient semantic models, datasets, measures and calculations using
Power Query, DAX and appropriate
data modeling practices.
• Configure scheduled refresh, gateway connections, workspace access, report
sharing, subscriptions and
deployment support in Power BI Service.
• Implement row-level security, data access controls and report governance in
coordination with UDC IT and
business owners.
• Optimize report performance, data refresh timing, model size, and user
experience across dashboards.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM and Power Platform
• Work with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM data, Dataverse tables/entities, views,
relationships and business
process data for reporting and operational insights.
• Support reporting requirements from CRM modules, including customer records,
cases/requests, sales/service
activities, workflows, approvals and other configured UDC CRM processes.
• Coordinate with CRM administrators, functional users and vendors to
understand data structure, field mapping,
business rules and reporting requirements.
• Support Power Platform related reporting needs, including Power Apps, Power
Automate workflow data, Power
Pages portal data and Dataverse-based solutions where applicable.

• Assist in validating CRM data quality, duplicate records, missing fields,
incorrect mappings and report
discrepancies.
Oracle / ERP and Other UDC Systems
• Extract, transform and report data from Oracle/ERP and other enterprise
systems used by UDC, subject to access
approval and system owner coordination.
• Develop SQL queries, views or agreed data extracts to support reporting,
reconciliation and dashboard
requirements.
• Coordinate with system owners for Oracle/ERP, finance, procurement, HR,
helpdesk, project management and
other applications to understand data availability and integration
constraints.
• Support integration of multiple data sources into Power BI while maintaining
data consistency, auditability and
alignment with business definitions.
• Assist in troubleshooting data refresh, connector, gateway, credential and
source-system access issues.
Business Analysis, Documentation, and Support
• Gather reporting requirements from business departments and convert them
into clear data models, dashboard
layouts, KPIs and report specifications.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation including data dictionaries,
source-to-report mapping, dashboard
user guides, refresh schedules, and version history.
• Conduct UAT support, validate report results with business users and
document sign-off or pending issues.
• Provide day-to-day support for dashboard issues, data discrepancies, access
requests, enhancements and user
guidance.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal IT teams to resolve technical issues
and maintain continuity of reporting
services.
Governance, Security, and Compliance
• Follow UDC policies for data confidentiality, access management, audit
trails, data retention and secure handling
of business information.
• Ensure dashboards and datasets are aligned with approved data ownership,
security roles, and least-privilege
access principles.
• Maintain proper change control for report changes, dataset changes, source
modifications and production
deployments.
• Support audit and management reporting requirements by maintaining traceable
calculations, approved
definitions and documented assumptions.
3. Required Technical Skills
Area Expected Capability
Power BI
Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power Query, DAX,
semantic models, scheduled refresh, gateways, RLS,
workspace management, report optimization, and dashboard
publishing.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM / Dataverse
Understanding of CRM data model, Dataverse tables,
relationships, forms/views, security roles, business processes,
and CRM-based reporting.
Oracle / ERP / SQL Ability to read and write SQL queries, understand

data structures, extract data, validate records, and support

reconciliation between source systems and reports.
Data Integration
Experience connecting multiple systems through approved
connectors, APIs, database views, flat files, SharePoint/Excel,
gateways, and scheduled data refresh mechanisms.
Microsoft Ecosystem
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Excel,
Teams, Power Apps, Power Automate, Azure/Entra ID concepts
and enterprise access controls.
Documentation & Support
Requirement gathering, dashboard specification, data
mapping, user guides, issue logs, UAT support, change
tracking, and knowledge transfer.
4. Preferred Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering,
Business Analytics, or a related
discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Power BI report development and
business intelligence delivery.
• Practical experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, Dataverse,
Oracle/ERP, SQL databases, or
enterprise business applications.
• Experience in requirement gathering, stakeholder workshops, UAT
coordination, data validation, and production
support.
• Experience in real estate, property management, facilities, finance,
procurement, customer service, or enterprise
operations reporting is an advantage.
5. Expected Deliverables
• Approved Power BI dashboards and KPI reports for business, operational, and
executive reporting.
• Documented data models, source-to-report mappings, and calculation logic for
key reports.
• Validated and reconciled reporting outputs from Dynamics 365 CRM,
Oracle/ERP, and other approved systems.
• Power BI workspace/report administration support, including refresh
monitoring and access management
coordination.
• UAT evidence, issue logs, change requests and dashboard release notes.
• User support, knowledge transfer and dashboard usage guidance for business
users.
6. Performance Expectations
• Reports should be accurate, timely, well-designed, and aligned with approved
business definitions.
• Dashboards should be easy to use, management-ready, and supported by clear
documentation.
• Data discrepancies should be investigated with proper coordination between
business users, system owners, and
IT.
• Changes should be controlled, documented, tested, and communicated before
release to production.
• The resource should proactively identify opportunities to automate manual
reporting and improve data quality.
7. Working Relationship
The resource will work closely with UDC IT, business departments, system
owners, CRM/Oracle/ERP administrators,
vendors, and management stakeholders. The resource is expected to support both
technical delivery and businessfacing
coordination to ensure reporting outcomes are practical, reliable, and aligned
with UDC’s enterprise
environment.
