Senior WSO2 CIAM Engineer Job Title: Senior WSO2 CIAM Engineer Experience: 6+ Years Job Description: The Kulana team is looking for an experienced Sr. WSO2 CIAM Engineer with strong expertise in Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) solutions and WSO2 technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, configuring, integrating, and delivering CIAM solutions. The candidate should have strong hands-on experience with WSO2 Identity Server, authentication and authorization mechanisms, identity federation, API security, and integration with enterprise applications. The role requires close collaboration with architects, business analysts, integration engineers, frontend engineers, QA teams, and DevOps teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable CIAM solutions. Responsibilities: • CIAM Solution Implementation: Design, configure, develop, and implement CIAM solutions using WSO2 Identity Server and related WSO2 technologies. • Identity & Access Management: Implement authentication, authorization, identity lifecycle management, access control, and secure identity flows. • Authentication & Federation: Configure and implement OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, JWT, and other authentication and federation mechanisms. • SSO Implementation: Design and implement Single Sign-On solutions across customer-facing and enterprise applications. • API & Application Security: Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms for APIs and applications and ensure alignment with CIAM security requirements. • Identity Integration: Integrate WSO2 CIAM with enterprise applications, directories, databases, APIs, and external identity providers. • Customization: Develop and configure custom authentication flows, adaptive authentication, claims, user journeys, connectors, and other CIAM customizations as required. • Troubleshooting: Analyse and resolve CIAM-related technical issues across authentication, federation, integration, configuration, and application connectivity. • Collaboration: Work closely with CIAM architects, BAs, integration engineers, frontend/full-stack engineers, QA teams, and DevOps teams throughout the implementation lifecycle. • Testing: Support functional, integration, security, performance, and end-to-end testing of CIAM solutions. • Deployment & DevOps: Work with DevOps and infrastructure teams for CIAM deployment, configuration management, environment setup, release management, and production readiness. • Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, configuration details, integration specifications, and implementation guides. • Knowledge Transfer: Provide knowledge transfer and technical guidance to project team members and client teams. • Innovation: Stay updated on CIAM, WSO2, identity security, authentication standards, and emerging IAM technologies and apply relevant improvements to the solution. • Tech Stack: Open to learning and exploring new CIAM, identity, security, integration, and cloud technologies. Non-negotiable Skills: • Proven experience in implementing Customer Identity and Access Management solutions. • Strong hands-on expertise in WSO2 Identity Server and WSO2 CIAM technologies. • Strong knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, JWT, and Single Sign-On. • Strong experience in authentication, authorization, identity federation, claims management, and identity lifecycle management. • Experience with WSO2 configuration, customization, integrations, authentication flows, and troubleshooting. • Strong understanding of API security and integration with enterprise applications. • Strong knowledge of Java and experience in developing/customizing identity and authentication components. • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. • Strong collaboration skills and ability to deliver high-quality and secure CIAM solutions. • Willingness to travel to the Middle East and Africa based on project requirements. Negotiable Skills: • Experience with WSO2 API Manager and WSO2 Micro Integrator. • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. • Experience with AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms. • Knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP, databases, and external Identity Providers. • Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines. • Knowledge of adaptive authentication, risk-based authentication, and advanced identity security. • Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures. • Familiarity with cybersecurity, zero-trust architecture, and emerging identity technologies.
