Role Purpose
The SharePoint and Power Platform Solution Architect leads the modernization
project while preserving SharePoint Online as the primary system of engagement
and document source. This role determines when to use native SharePoint
capabilities, Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint Framework, Telerik
components, Colligo solutions, Copilot Studio, or targeted custom components.
The architect is responsible for selecting the simplest maintainable design
that
improves priority user journeys, reinforces governed metadata and ownership,
supports users working with SharePoint content across approved experiences,
and
avoids creating a disconnected application layer.
Key Responsibilities
Assess the current application, pages, libraries, lists, metadata,
navigation,
permissions, and supporting processes.
Define the target SharePoint experience for the future.
Design improvements to navigation, classification, lifecycle visibility,
ownership, and the presentation of current, supporting, and archived content.
Architect governed document intake, upload, publishing, approval,
validation,
information-refresh, and issue-reporting processes.
Determine the correct use of native configuration, Power Apps, Power
Automate, SharePoint Framework, Telerik components, Colligo solutions, and
other targeted extensions.
Evaluate existing or proposed Telerik components for compatibility,
maintainability, accessibility, supportability, and fit within the approved
SharePoint solution architecture.
Evaluate Colligo-enabled document and email management experiences as
part of the broader SharePoint information architecture and governance
model.
Define how Colligo configurations should align with approved libraries,
content
types, metadata, permissions, retention expectations, and document lifecycle
rules.
Define how Power Platform, Telerik, and Colligo solutions reinforce rather
than bypass SharePoint governance, permissions, classification, and
ownership controls.
Establish maintainability, environment, solution packaging, testing,
deployment, upgrade, and support standards for native, low-code,
commercial, and custom components.
Collaborate with the SharePoint Development Engineer on component
designs, integration patterns, implementation decisions, and technical
reviews.
Collaborate with the Enterprise Information Architect on metadata,
lifecycle,
content type, ownership, and classification standards.
Collaborate with the Microsoft Fabric team on source content, metadata,
ingestion, and change behaviour.
Support the custom Copilot experience where SharePoint content, pages,
interfaces, Telerik components, Colligo experiences, or extensions are
involved.
Produce a prioritized improvement backlog and production architecture
recommendation.
Required Experience and Capabilities
Advanced solution architecture experience with SharePoint Online and
Microsoft 365.
Strong Power Apps and Power Automate solution architecture experience.
Working knowledge of SharePoint Framework, Microsoft Graph, SharePoint
APIs, identity, permissions, and application lifecycle management.
Experience designing document-centric workflows and modern SharePoint
experiences.
Experience assessing and governing third-party products and commercial
components within Microsoft 365 and SharePoint environments.
Ability to evaluate configuration, low-code, commercial-product, and custom-
code trade-offs.
Strong user-centred design, governance, security, accessibility, and
maintainability judgement.
Preferred Telerik and Colligo Experience
Experience designing or governing SharePoint solutions that use Telerik
user-
interface controls or related commercial development components.
Ability to assess Telerik component dependencies, licensing considerations,
upgrade impacts, accessibility, performance, security, and support
requirements.
Experience designing, configuring, or governing Colligo solutions used with
SharePoint and Microsoft 365 content.
Understanding of how Colligo-supported user experiences interact with
SharePoint libraries, metadata, content types, permissions, versioning,
retention, and lifecycle controls.
Experience troubleshooting or planning upgrades for Telerik- or Colligo-
dependent SharePoint solutions.
Additional Preferred Background
Copilot Studio, Microsoft Search, Purview, Entra, Azure DevOps, or GitHub
experience.
Experience with upload wizards, publishing processes, validation workflows,
metadata enforcement, and issue-routing solutions.
Microsoft Power Platform or Microsoft 365 certifications are beneficial.
Expected Deliverables
SharePoint modernization architecture and target user experience.
Power Platform solution design.
Telerik and Colligo fit assessment for the approved scope.
Governed metadata and lifecycle implementation design.
Component, integration, permission, deployment, upgrade, and support
standards.
Prioritized SharePoint improvement backlog.
Production recommendation based on proof-of-value findings.
