Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced COTS/SaaS Technical Consultant to assess and improve
the client’s software implementation, data migration, technical support, and client
onboarding capabilities.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with software companies that develop and
deploy COTS/SaaS products, with strong expertise in implementation, large-scale data
migration, technical support operations, staffing assessment, and process optimization.
Experience with Content Management Systems/products will be a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities
• Assess the current software implementation and deployment processes and identify
opportunities for improvement.
• Evaluate the tools and processes used for new-client implementations and
recommend enhancements to make implementations faster and more efficient.

• Assess experience and processes related to large-scale data migrations prior to go-
live, including planning, validation, testing, and cutover.

• Evaluate the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) structure, staffing levels, roles,
responsibilities, and overall efficiency.
• Analyze TAC team members’ technical skills, capabilities, productivity, and training
requirements.
• Identify skill gaps and recommend appropriate training, staffing changes, or new
hires.
• Recommend the types of technical resources required and develop Position
Descriptions/JDs for new roles where necessary.
• Review software support processes and identify opportunities to improve customer
support efficiency and scalability.
• Provide recommendations for improving the overall product implementation,
support, and client onboarding lifecycle.
• Work closely with technical leadership, product teams, implementation teams, and
support/TAC management.

• Prepare assessment findings, recommendations, and an actionable
improvement/roadmap plan.
Required Skills & Experience
• 10+ years of experience in software consulting, technical consulting, software
implementation, or SaaS/COTS environments.
• Experience working with companies that build, deploy, and support COTS or SaaS
software products.
• Strong experience with enterprise software implementation and client onboarding.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale data migration projects prior to production
go-live.
• Experience evaluating technical support/TAC organizations.
• Experience assessing staffing levels, technical skill sets, productivity, and training
requirements.
• Ability to identify resource gaps and recommend appropriate roles, skills, and
staffing models.
• Experience creating technical Position Descriptions/JDs based on organizational
requirements.
• Strong understanding of software deployment, installation, implementation, and
support processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and consulting skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Experience
• Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) or Content Management
products.
• Experience helping a SaaS/COTS software company scale its implementation and
support operations.
• Experience optimizing implementation tools and deployment processes.
• Experience with enterprise application support and technical assistance centers.

Ideal Candidate
