A Total Rewards Workday QA (Quality Assurance) Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, functionality, and security of Workday HCM modules related to compensation, benefits, payroll, and time tracking. They test system configurations, integrations, and annual processes to ensure compliance and a high-quality employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
Test Planning & Execution: Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, scripts, and scenarios for Workday enhancements, bi-annual releases, and new functionality.
Module Specialization: Focus on testing Compensation (Merit, Bonus, Stock), Benefits (Open Enrollment), Core HCM, and Absence Management.
Integration Testing: Support testing of Workday integrations, including EIBs (Enterprise Interface Builder), Core Connectors, Studio, and payroll vendor interfaces.
Automation: Utilize tools like Leapwork, UiPath, or Selenium to design and maintain automated test scripts for regression testing.
Data Integrity & Security: Validate data accuracy, test security roles, and verify calculated fields to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Defect Management: Identify bugs, perform root cause analysis, log defects in tools like Azure DevOps (ADO) or Jira, and manage the triage lifecycle through resolution.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with functional analysts, Payroll, HRIS teams, and business partners to understand requirements and UAT (User Acceptance Testing) coordination.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience: 3–5+ years of QA/testing experience, with 2–4+ years focused specifically on Workday HCM, Benefits, or Compensation modules.
Workday Expertise: Strong knowledge of Workday business processes, reporting, calculated fields, and security.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in manual testing, test automation tools (Leapwork, UiPath, Selenium), and SQL for data validation.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Human Resources, or related field.
Certifications: Workday Pro or Certification is often preferred.
Key Areas of Focus
Annual Events: Testing Open Enrollment and Annual Compensation Reviews.
Process Improvement: Championing the adoption of standard Workday features to reduce manual work.
Risk Mitigation: Ensuring compliance with data privacy (GDPR, etc.) and regulatory requirements
