Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on OpenShift (OCP) Application Support Engineer
with strong experience in deploying, monitoring, and troubleshooting
applications on Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms. The ideal candidate should
have experience in L1/L2 production support, incident management, and root
cause analysis for containerized applications.
🔹 Roles & Responsibilities
Deploy and manage containerized applications on OpenShift/Kubernetes
Collaborate with development teams for application onboarding, releases,
and environment setup
Manage Kubernetes/OpenShift objects:
Pods, Deployments, StatefulSets
Services, Routes
ConfigMaps, Secrets
Troubleshoot application and pod-level issues:
CrashLoopBackOff
Image pull failures
DNS/network-related issues
Configuration errors
Monitor application health using Prometheus, Grafana, and Alert Manager
Analyze logs using EFK Stack (Elasticsearch, Fluentd, Kibana) / Splunk
Handle incident management (L1/L2), alerts, and escalations
Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures
Support scaling, rollouts, and rollback activities
Work on Helm-based deployments and configuration management
Ensure RBAC and access control compliance
Coordinate with infrastructure teams for dependencies
Maintain SOPs, runbooks, and incident documentation
🔹 Must-Have Skills
5+ years of total experience with 3+ years in OpenShift/Kubernetes
(Application Support)
Strong hands-on experience in application deployment and troubleshooting
on OCP
Solid understanding of Kubernetes core objects (Pods, Deployments,
Services, etc.)
Experience in handling production incidents (L2 Support)
Hands-on with monitoring tools: Prometheus, Grafana
Experience with logging tools: EFK Stack / Splunk
Hands-on experience with Helm
Good understanding of Docker and container lifecycle
Basic networking knowledge (DNS, TCP/IP in container environments)
Strong Linux fundamentals and log analysis skills
