Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Unix/Linux Administrator to manage, support,
and optimize enterprise server environments. The ideal candidate should have
strong hands-on expertise in Unix/Linux system administration, shell
scripting, automation, production support, performance tuning, and system
reliability. This role requires someone who can work closely with
infrastructure, application, DevOps, and security teams to maintain stable,
secure, and high-availability environments supporting business-critical
applications.
Key Responsibilities

Administer, monitor, and maintain Unix/Linux servers in enterprise
environments

Perform system installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and OS-level
troubleshooting

Monitor system health, CPU, memory, storage, logs, and overall server
performance

Troubleshoot production incidents, outages, and performance bottlenecks
-
Develop and maintain shell scripts to automate routine operational and
administrative tasks

Manage users, groups, permissions, file systems, and process-level controls
-
Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
-
Work with application and DevOps teams to support deployments, releases, and
environment stability

Implement system hardening, access controls, and security best practices
-
Prepare and maintain SOPs, operational documentation, and runbooks
-
Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and production
support activities
Required Skills
-
5+ years of hands-on experience in Unix/Linux system administration

Strong experience with Linux distributions and/or enterprise Unix platforms
such as AIX, Solaris, or HP-UX

Strong scripting skills in Shell/Bash/KornShell

Good understanding of process management, cron jobs, job scheduling, and
system services

Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals including DNS, SSH, FTP/SFTP,
NFS

Experience in system performance tuning, capacity monitoring, and log
analysis

Hands-on experience with patching, backups, restore procedures, and disaster
recovery support

Strong understanding of file systems, storage, LVM/volume management, and
server resource utilization

Familiarity with monitoring and log analysis tools such as Nagios, Splunk,
Grafana

Experience in production support, incident management, and root cause
analysis
Preferred (Bonus) Skills

Exposure to infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef

Experience with cloud-based Linux administration on AWS, Azure, or GCP
-
Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and deployment support in modern
infrastructure environments

Basic scripting or automation experience in Python

Understanding of Unix/Linux security hardening, vulnerability remediation,
and audit compliance

Familiarity with DevOps practices, release support, and CI/CD environments
