We are seeking a highly skilled Product Owner to lead the development of an AI-enabled product focused on optimizing patient workflows within radiology departments. The ideal candidate will have strong product-thinking abilities, understanding of radiology workflows, and hands-on experience collaborating with crossfunctional teams (engineering, AI/ML, UX, clinical SMEs). This role is responsible for shaping the product vision, translating business and clinical needs into a structured backlog, and ensuring timely delivery of high-impact features that improve patient throughput, operational efficiency, and workflow predictability.
Lead discussions with multiple stakeholders, modality technologists, operations managers, and business teams to gather functional and non-functional requirements.
Understand radiologyspecific workflows including:
Modality scheduling (MRI/CT/X-ray/Ultrasound)
Patient preparation & movement
Safety checks, screening workflows
Scan execution, reporting, post-processing, and handoffs
Map endtoend patient journeys within the radiology department, identifying inefficiencies and AI intervention points.
Translate workflow needs into a clear backlog using Theme → Epic → Feature → User Story structure.
Ensure all work items meet Feature Definition Templates, include detailed acceptance criteria, and satisfy Definition of Ready (DoR) before PI commitment.
Drive continuous refinement with engineering, AI/ML, and UX teams.
Own backlog prioritization, balancing:
Operational efficiency in radiology
AI model readiness and data quality
Modality-specific constraints
Dependencies across hospital systems
Build and maintain a clear roadmap aligned with clinical and business objectives.
Demonstrate strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills to align technologists, administrators, and technical teams.
Convert unstructured or ambiguous business requests into clear, mature, and prioritized product increments.
Facilitate requirement workshops, trade-off discussions, and decision-making sessions.
Possess working knowledge of:
AI/ML systems involved in patient flow prediction, exam-duration estimation, slot optimization, workload balancing, etc.
Computer vision components (if applied to patient movement, modality room readiness, safety checks).
Understand how technology choices impact workflow predictability and patient throughput.
Participate in PI Planning, sprint ceremonies, and cross-team coordination.
Drive system demos, showcasing improvements to radiology workflows, throughput KPIs, room utilization, and AI-driven predictions.
Accept completed features after validating adherence to Definition of Done (DoD) and clinical relevance.
Ensure solutions are intuitive for radiology personas (technologists, radiologists, administrators, schedulers).
Identify workflow risks, patient safety considerations, and operational gaps early in the design.
Advocate for user-centric design with strong focus on reliability and clinical safety.
7–10 years of experience as a Product Owner/Product Manager, preferably in healthcare or imaging.
Strong understanding of radiology workflows, modality operations, scheduling, and patient flow dynamics.
Working knowledge of AI/ML-driven products, workflow automation, or clinical decision support tools.
Proficiency in Agile/Scrum/SAFe methodologies; certification preferred.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and analytical skills.
Experience working with radiology teams or imaging centers.
Understanding of operational KPIs (e.g., modality utilization, wait-time reduction, no-show prediction, patient throughput).
Exposure to regulatory and medical software quality standards.
Radiology workflow m
apping & clinical system thinking
Strong analytical and inquisitive mindset
AI/ML product awareness
Stakeholder influence & cross-functional alignment
Excellent communication and requirement articulation
Prioritization & structured decision-making
