Our client is looking for a HW Test Engineer to support hardware testing activities for motor and inverter systems in a marine/ automotive application program. The role is based at the customer location in Odawara, Japan , where the engineer will work on inverter testing using a motor test bench for an outboard motor and inverter development project .
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in hardware testing, data collection, and test reporting , and should be comfortable working independently while collaborating with Japanese engineering teams.
Perform inverter testing using a motor test bench for marine/automotive application products.
Understand hardware and hardware testing requirements for motor and inverter systems.
Receive technical instructions from the Japanese Hardware Lead and execute testing activities accordingly.
Conduct lab testing, validation, and hardware debugging .
Collect and analyze test data and prepare detailed test reports .
Support hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting , including soldering and hardware issue resolution.
Ensure testing is conducted in accordance with defined procedures and engineering standards.
Strong understanding of hardware testing processes and validation methods .
Hands-on experience with lab testing equipment and hardware debugging .
Experience preparing and reviewing test reports and technical documentation .
Skilled in soldering and diagnosing hardware issues .
Familiarity with hardware testing tools and equipment such as:
CANOe
Hardware simulation tools
Motor load systems
Oscilloscope
DAQ systems
Chiller plants
Power supplies and other testing equipment
Experience in Marine or Automotive domain is preferred.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics , or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in hardware testing or validation.
