Role Purpose
Responsible for ensuring product, process, and supplier quality for motor manufacturing activities in China, while coordinating quality requirements and issue resolution with China-based suppliers and the Lucas TVS India team.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure product and process quality in line with defined specifications and automotive quality standards.
- Monitor supplier quality performance, conduct audits, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Handle quality issues using structured problem-solving tools such as 8D, 5 Why, RCA, SPC, and CAPA.
- Support APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, sample validation, and new product / localization activities.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, suppliers, and the Lucas TVS India team for timely closure of quality concerns.
- Prepare quality reports and communicate technical issues and action plans effectively in English.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Automobile, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2 to 8 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality, or Manufacturing Quality, preferably in automotive / motor manufacturing.
- Exposure to motors, electrical / electromechanical components, machining, stamping, casting, winding, or assembly processes is preferred.
Key Competencies
- Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA, 8D, and IATF 16949.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English; Mandarin / Chinese for local coordination.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and supplier-management skills.
- Willingness to travel to supplier and manufacturing locations within China, as required.
