JOB DESCRIPTION
• Design and develop automotive seat systems including frames, foam, trim covers, recliners, tracks, and mechanisms.
• Interpret and translate styling surfaces and packaging requirements into detailed engineering designs.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (styling, CAE, manufacturing, and testing) to ensure designs meet cost, quality, safety, and performance targets.
• Conduct and document DFMEA, design reviews, and ensure compliance with industry and customer standards.
• Support prototype builds, validation tests, and implement design changes as required.
• Prepare CAD models, 2D drawings, and BOMs using tools like CATIA V5/V6 or Siemens NX
• Address ergonomics, comfort, safety regulations, and NVH aspects in design.
REQUIRED SKILLS
• Proficiency in CAD tools (CATIA V5/V6 or Siemens NX ).
• Knowledge of seat comfort design, foam and trim development, structural requirements, and safety compliance.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes (welding, foam molding, trimming, plastic injection).
• Familiarity with DFMEA, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Good communication skills and experience in working with global teams or Tier-1 suppliers.
• Aware of regulation compliances: global and Japanese seat safety regulations.
• Able to work closely with global suppliers (Japan, China, Europe) to confirm manufacturing feasibility and DFM/DFA compliance REQUIRED SKILLS
• Exposure to CAE data interpretation for seat crashworthiness and stiffness.
• Experience with safety regulations such as FMVSS, ECE, or GB standards.
• Knowledge of PLM tools like Teamcenter or ENOVIA.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Mechatronics, or related engineering fields
