Data and AI Consulting Manager

The Data & AI Consulting Manager will be responsible for developing and scaling Data & AI consulting engagements for our client, a leading engineering services company , within the Oil & Gas (O&G) sector. This role blends deep industry knowledge, strong technical understanding, and consulting leadership to help clients modernize their data landscape, adopt AI-driven solutions, and achieve measurable business outcomes.

You will work closely with O&G clients, internal engineering teams, and senior leadership to define digital roadmaps, architect scalable data solutions, and drive adoption of advanced analytics across upstream, midstream, and downstream operations.

Key Responsibilities

Business Growth & Client Engagement

• Lead business development initiatives for Data & AI offerings within the O&G industry, including opportunity identification, solution positioning, and proposal development.

• Build and nurture relationships with C-suite and senior stakeholders across major O&G operators and service companies.

• Translate complex client challenges into actionable Data & AI strategies, roadmaps, and solution architectures .

• Drive revenue growth through consultative selling and expansion of existing client accounts.

• Demonstrate the ability to convert complex data challenges into clear, strategic business solutions.

• Exhibit strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with an entrepreneurial mindset focused on data-driven transformation.

Consulting & Solution Leadership

• Lead discovery workshops, maturity assessments, and consulting engagements focused on data modernization, AI adoption, and digital transformation .

• Define and architect solutions across:

  • Data Governance and Master Data Management

  • Data Integration and Contextualization (OT/IT/ET data)

  • ML Ops and AI Ops

  • Knowledge graphs, digital twins, and industrial data platforms

  • Predictive analytics, reliability models, and safety insights

• Provide thought leadership on emerging technologies and digitalization trends within the O&G industry.

• Collaborate with internal engineering and technology teams to design and deliver innovative, scalable, and client-specific digital solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline.

• 10+ years of experience in data, analytics, or digital transformation roles, with at least 5 years in consulting or client-facing leadership positions.

• Strong understanding of O&G operations (upstream, midstream, or downstream) and associated data ecosystems.

• Proven experience designing and delivering solutions involving:

  • Data Governance, Data Quality, and Metadata Management

  • Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, and Cloud Platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

  • ML Ops, AI Ops, and industrial analytics

  • OT/IT integration and data contextualization

• Ability to engage senior stakeholders and lead strategic, outcome-driven discussions.

• Strong business acumen with demonstrated experience in revenue generation or practice growth.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with industrial data platforms such as AVEVA, Cognite, Palantir, or Seeq .

• Familiarity with reliability engineering, asset performance management, or safety analytics.

• Certifications in cloud platforms, data engineering, or AI technologies.

• Prior experience working with global engineering or technology services organizations .
