The Business Development Manager (BDM) will drive new business acquisition by identifying, engaging, and closing opportunities in the Industrial Products and Manufacturing sector. This role requires a strong hunter mindset, deep understanding of smart manufacturing and automation ecosystems, and the ability to position digitalization-led, IP-driven, and Industry 4.0 solutions to enterprise clients.
Own new logo acquisition and greenfield account development across industrial products, discrete manufacturing, and process industries.
Proactively identify, qualify, and convert net-new opportunities through outbound prospecting, industry networking, and ecosystem partnerships.
Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline aligned to aggressive growth and booking targets.
Drive deals from first conversation to closure, including discovery, solutioning, commercials, and contract finalization.
Sell Smart Manufacturing, Industrial Automation, Digitalization, and Industry 4.0 solutions, including:
IIoT, MES, Digital Twin, AI/ML, Advanced Analytics
Factory automation, connected assets, predictive maintenance
IP-led platforms and digital manufacturing accelerators
Translate customer pain points into business-value-led solution proposals with clear ROI.
Work closely with pre-sales, solution architects, and delivery teams to create differentiated offerings.
Engage with CXOs, Plant Heads, Operations, Engineering, and Digital Transformation leaders.
Understand manufacturing KPIs such as OEE, yield, throughput, downtime reduction, and cost optimization.
Position solutions that enable smart factories, operational excellence, and digital transformation.
Lead RFP/RFI responses, proposal creation, and commercial negotiations for mid to large deals.
Own deal governance, pricing strategy, risk assessment, and internal approvals.
Ensure timely closure with strong win rates and margin discipline.
Track trends in Industrial Products, Automation, Digital Manufacturing, and Emerging Technologies.
Build relationships with automation OEMs, platform providers, cloud vendors, and system integrators.
Represent the organization at industry events, expos, and customer forums to generate new leads.
8–15 years of experience in Business Development / Sales with a strong hunting background.
Proven success in new logo acquisition within Industrial Products, Manufacturing, or Automation domains.
Strong understanding of Smart Manufacturing, Industry 4.0, Automation, and Digitalization.
Track record of closing high-value enterprise deals with measurable revenue impact.
Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and thrive in a target-driven, high-growth environment.
