IT Infrastructure + Manufacturing
Digital Engineering Site Administrator is the site-level owner and steward of digital engineering systems, responsible for ensuring effective integration between operational technology (OT) and enterprise IT platforms in an advanced engineering environment. It drives the performance, security and scalability of engineering systems (PLM, CAD/CAE, simulation, requirements/workflow tools), laboratory, enterprise platforms (ERP/Teamcenter/SCADA, data & analytics), aligned to Molex’s global technology direction.
Align technology roadmaps with Technology Center engineering and quality, to achieve throughput, quality, and cost targets.
Translate engineering needs actionable digital requirements, working with corporate IT, automation teams, and vendors to deliver solutions that improve reliability, visibility, and scalability.
Ensure all site IT/OT requests are submitted through the global intake workflow and meet intake standards.
Evaluate and prioritize requests based on strategic alignment, architecture fit, cost/value, urgency, compliance, and resource impact.
Proactively engage center stakeholders (Engineering, Quality etc.) to ensure standardized request submission and to protect project timelines.
Leverage global steering and prioritization forums to secure funding, align priorities, and provide transparency on site demand and project status.
Govern digital readiness for NPI, laboratory setup and audits requirement; ensure product structures, specifications, work instructions, test parameters, and quality plans are released in PLM and correctly propagated to ERP/Teamcenter.
Own Technology Center deployment and support for engineering platforms (ERP/Teamcenter/SCADA, data & analytics), including access control, environment management/upgrade, enhancement, and vendor support.
Provide IT/OT support for Product Design and Medical Laboratory environments by ensuring secure, compliant, and high availability operations across laboratories, systems, platforms, and infrastructure.
Assure secure, reliable connectivity for automation, robotics, and testing equipment.
Operate and optimize site IT/OT infrastructure including site networks, on prem and cloud compute servers, identity & access systems, endpoints, datacenter and plant floor OT devices (PLCs, HMIs, IIoT gateways, historians).
Maintain current architecture diagrams, IP schemes, asset inventory, runbooks and SOPs to enable fast recovery and consistent operations.
Implement and enforce secure remote access, segmentation between IT and OT, and endpoint/hardening standards in partnership with corporate IT/cybersecurity.
Lead capacity planning and lifecycle management: forecast resource needs, plan hardware/software refreshes, coordinate procurement, and manage warranties/licenses.
Protect intellectual property and supplier data by applying site cybersecurity controls, secure configuration baselines, and credential/certificate management.
Maintain, test and validate disaster recovery and business continuity plans for critical digital assets; ensure backups and restore procedures are current.
Act as the site liaison to Corporate Cybersecurity for vulnerability remediation, incident response, and compliance audits.
Support site compliance for audit certification and related alignment with global/division standards.
Coordinate audit readiness, evidence, and corrective actions with Corporate IT, Cybersecurity, Quality, and Compliance teams.
Ensure business continuity, backup, and recovery readiness, and lead rapid response for technology incidents or audit gaps.
Manage vendor relationships for support, maintenance, licensing and professional services; coordinate on site vendor activities to minimize production impact.
Create and submit purchase requests (PRs) for generic IT requirements, ensuring accurate scope, cost justification, and alignment with approved budgets. Coordinate with the Purchasing/Procurement team to support timely purchase order (PO) release.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in information technology, Computer Science, Electrical/Automation/Industrial Engineering, or related field.
8+ years of technology leadership supporting engineering and manufacturing, with strong experience in digital engineering / engineering systems (PLM/PDM, CAD/CAE, simulation, workflow).
IT/OT infrastructure, industrial connectivity IoT / PLC, network segmentation, and integration of engineering labs and automation systems; understanding of on‑prem and hybrid virtualized compute (VM) environments, capacity planning, high availability, backup/restore, and lifecycle management.
Familiarity with enterprise domain services (Active Directory concepts), DHCP, DNS, and IP addressing standards supporting stable, scalable, and secure engineering and OT environments.
Familiarity with identity and access controls, cybersecurity best practices supporting engineering and lab environments in alignment with corporate cybersecurity teams.
Familiarity with Engineering platforms: PLM/PDM, CAD administration, CAE/simulation environments, requirements/workflow tools; strong understanding of engineering change, configuration management, and product structures (parts/BOMs).
Familiarity with Integration & data: PLM–ERP–MES integration concepts, APIs/middleware, data modeling/master data, reporting/BI; familiarity with manufacturing execution/automation context (MES/SCADA, robotics/vision/AOI/metrology) to enable engineering-to-shopfloor traceability.
