Platform Engineer - DevOps

Position Description/ Requirements

This person will play a key role in the implementation and ongoing improvement of our Platform Engineering practices across GP. We are looking for an experienced candidate with the knowledge and aptitude to help drive modernization, optimization, and innovation across the capabilities we’re responsible for, who will challenge our internal process and existing methodologies with the aim to revolutionizing how we create value within Georgia
Pacific.
Our Team
Our team manages Georgia Pacific’s multi-cloud platform, focusing on modernization, cloud optimization, maintenance of cloud native workloads and edge workloads. We collaborate with engineers and leaders to address issues affecting team performance by implementing tools, processes, or products that streamline daily activities.
A Day In The Life Could Include: What You Will Need To Bring With You: (experience & education required)

Role: Platform Engineer – DevOps

Location: Bangalore

Work Model: Onsite (5 days a week)

Exp Level: 5 - 8 years Preferably

  Mandatory Skills:

• DevOps, AWS
• Python
• Monitoring: Grafana,
• IAC ( Infrastructure as code)
• GitHub Actions
• Terraform
• IAM Roles/ Policies

Optional:

• Dynatrace
• Kubernetes

Responsibility:
 Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and infrastructure provisioning.
 Develop infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform or similar.
 Monitor platform health, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and drive continuous improvement.
 Collaborate with development teams to containerize applications and optimize resource utilization
 Support critical platforms including consulting, debugging, break/fix execution, and participation in the on-call rotation

Technical Skills:
 Bachelor's/master’s degree in computer science /information technology
 Should have 5-8 Yrs of IT experience
 Strong expertise with DevOps, Cloud and observability platforms.
 Having hands on experience on scripting language like Python
 Experience creating and maintaining infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
 Experience managing a GitHub organization DevOps, Infrastructure-as-Code experience in GitHub Actions
 Experience in monitoring and observability tools like Grafana, Dynatrace
 Experience in administering a cloud platform (AWS, Azure), with an emphasis on enterprise governance, support, automation and development.
 Experience in Secrets management tool like Akeyless, AWS Secrets managers etc.
 Experience in IAMRoles, policies and IAM Users
 Experience in Docker and containerization

What Will Put You Ahead: Additional Notes
 Experience managing Kubernetes clusters on AWS using EKS
 Experience in Security tools like PrismaCloud, GAS (GitHub Advance Security)
