Business Data Analyst
Overview

Analyst. You will be on the forefront of our scaled agile journey but also be
a key part of the largest technology and data
enabled transformation in our history.
The Business Data Analyst partners with business process owners, workstream
teams, Data Management, Data
Engineering, and BI Delivery to lead business data discussions, clarify
requirements, and define clear acceptance criteria.
The role ensures business intent is fully understood and translated into
actionable requirements that enable delivery
teams to design solutions that unlock decisionmaking and measurable business
value.
Key Responsibilities
Participate and collaborate with the workstream team during requirements
definition; act as the data subject-
matter liaison.
Lead discussions with business for identification, design, and build of
reports and author Lean Spec/Requirement
documents.
Coordinate business & Data Management team participation in data
load cycles including intake, scheduling,
business validation/UAT, and stakeholder communications
Coordinate resolution with the business during development and testing.
Work with business owners to identify needed changes to data values and
attributes in collaboration with Data
Management and Data Stewards.
Partner with BI Delivery/Data Engineering to translate reporting needs into
build-ready requirements; engage
Data Management early to confirm governed definitions, CDE impacts, and data
readiness.
Capture business-to-data mapping inputs in requirements/Lean Specs and
ensure Data Management-owned
mapping artifacts are referenced and validated with business SMEs.
Keep business and workstream stakeholders frequently informed on
progress/status (standups, status reports,
ADO, dashboards).
What you will be doing
Provide business data domain expertise in support of key initiatives
Be a key member of an agile project team collaborating with various
business, Data and technical teams
ensuring that deliverables are aligned to prioritized requirements and
business needs
Challenge the business assumptions so that requirements and delivered
solutions meet current/future needs
Make recommendations and proposals for implementation of business process
and customer experience
Work closely with the teams to highlight issues, risks, and support
delivering to project deadlines, achieving an
appropriate balance between time, quality, and cost
Building strong relationships with key stakeholders across Technology, Data,
and Business customers to ensure
that we are supporting the projects and business goals
Qualifications and Education
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or
university in Business, Data Science,
Computer Science, closely related field, or equivalent work experience.
2-3 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, BI Analyst or
Data roles, preferably with an emphasis
in the Manufacturing industry. 5-10 years of overall IT experience.
Leadership Skills – Strong written, verbal communication and presentation
skills; ability to present and discuss
strategies and technical information in a manner that establishes rapport,
persuades others, and establishes
understanding for technical and non-technical audiences
Demonstrated high learning agility with strong analytical, problem-solving,
decision-making, and communication
skills
Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building
strong working relationships and a
positive work environment
Self-motivated with strong sense of accountability, initiative, and the
ability to work collaboratively or
independently to accomplish results that meet the business priorities
Previous experience in business process mapping, defining system
requirements and test scenarios.
Specific skills include facilitating change, driving operational excellence,
and striving for continuous
improvement
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint etc.)
Preferred Experience
General knowledge of end-to-end Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
systems/processes
Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO)
Experience working in Agile based methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban)
SQL experience and practical Snowflake experience
Experience authoring requirements / Lean Spec documents and data mapping
Experience working with Data Management/Stewardship and business
stakeholders
