Role Overview
The Data Governance Lead will anchor the development and implementation of
Koch Inc.’s data governance strategy. This role will oversee data quality
initiatives, data catalog management, data virtualization, and AI-powered
solutions to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and leveraged for business
value. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with hands-on expertise
in data governance, data quality, metadata management, and enabling advanced
analytics.
Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and enforce data governance policies, standards, and
frameworks across the organization.

Lead data stewardship initiatives to ensure data accuracy, consistency,
and compliance.

Drive data quality management, including profiling, cleansing,
validation, and remediation (including SAS Viya).

Use tools such as Qualytics to automate and monitor data quality
across the enterprise.

Manage and optimize enterprise
data catalog solutions (e.g., Alation),
ensuring effective metadata management, data lineage, and discovery.

Design and oversee
data virtualization architectures
to enable seamless access to distributed data sources (including Denodo).

Collaborate with
analytics and data science teams to leverage AI technologies
for improved data management, anomaly detection, and predictive data
quality.

Engage stakeholders across IT, business, and analytics to promote data
literacy, governance adoption, and culture change.

Lead change management, training, and communication efforts related to
data governance.

Report progress, challenges, and business impact to leadership.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience in
data governance, data quality management, and metadata management (7+
years).

Hands-on expertise with Alation (or equivalent data catalog/ data
governance tools), SAS Viya, and Qualytics
.

Hands on experience with Python and SQL.

Demonstrated understanding of data virtualization concepts and solutions.

Practical
knowledge of AI/ML applications in data management
.

Strong project leadership, stakeholder management, and communication
skills.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science,
Information Systems, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Certifications in Data Governance or Data Management (e.g., DCAM, CDMP).

Experience in regulated industries (manufacturing, finance, etc.).
-
Knowledge of cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure).
-
Experience working with large, distributed data environments.
