Who we are looking for:
Molex is seeking a dynamic Senior CAD Engineer – Design to be part of our
strong Engineering Team to develop new products that we are bringing to
market. You will be a part of our Connector Design Team and collaborate
with our cross-functional team internationally.
This particular open position is for our Industrial Solutions team which
designs and develops connectors for high power industrial applications.
We seek someone who not only has a solid background in Industrial
communication or Automotive but also shines in mentoring team members
through stellar communication. Strong communication skills are must-have
for this position, one who is a great communicator and capable of
articulating complex concepts clearly.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent science degree

5-7 years of experience in product development/sustenance and
engineering change (wiring harness, connectors, automotive/industrial
application)
Responsibilities
As a Senior CAD Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Lead CAD design and drafting activities to support NPD and sustenance of
released Molex products, including connectors, cable assemblies, and
networking components

Prepare design change packages, mark-ups, and support documentation for
internal reviews and customer submissions

Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing and
customer-reported issues

Works closely with the global team on sustenance and design activities

Owns, prepares and follows engineering change requests (ECR) per
document control procedures. Supports other engineers in department by
checking drawings and provides mark-up for corrections.

Develop and release robust CAD models and manufacturing drawings with
advanced GD&T that follow the Molex Drawing Standards and guides and
mentor junior engineers

Interfaces with internal departments (manufacturing, quality, lab, sales
and marketing) to ensure design objectives are met in a timely manner
and assists by providing product information, engineering samples, and
technical advice. Also interfaces with suppliers and customers.

Supports current product with continuous improvement and supports
resolution of customer issues. Always support sustenance activities,
coordination with manufacturing plant.

Take part in disposition activities and support global team in
measurement data.
Required Skills
-
Experience designing products with Plastic, Sheetmetal, Casting parts,
Plated components.
- Advance proficiency in CAD (2D and 3D), preferably in UG NX
-
Advance knowledge of GD&T, tolerance interpretation, and basic stack-up
analysis
- Solid understanding of DFMEA and change management process
- Experience working with cross-functional and global teams
- Knowledge of the Product development process
- Strong communication and technical leadership skills

Microsoft Office products: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project, Visio
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to others
- Experience working with cross-functional and global teams

Exposure in Team Center and Polarion software will be an added advantage
