Hardware Design Engineer- CMS

Molex is seeking a dynamic HW design Engineer to be part of our strong Engineering Team to develop new products that we are bringing to market.   You will be a part of our cross functional team and collaborate internationally with our design teams. 
Team overview

• Hardware design team
• Team of 7 engineers
• 2 positions- replacement
• Chargers- working on two major – USB and wireless chargers in automotive domain
• Take requirement from OEMs and then develop the product mainly on the chargers (Volvo, Audi, etc)

Experience: 7-12 years of experience (coming up with multiple product development experience)

Education: B.E/B.Tech

Key skills: 

• Senior design engineer- work on projects independently
• Hardware design testing
• Designing power circuits like MOSFET, H-Bridge, High-Side/Low-Side drives
• Designing DC to DC conversion and DC to AC conversion
• Designing Overcurrent & Overvoltage protection circuits
• Designing Analog Circuits like Op-amp and transistors, ADC and DAC circuits
• Automotive test standards, experience on automotive projects
• EMI/EMC design considerations
• Experience on EMC pre-compliance testing and certification support
• Digital Communication Interfaces like serial (USB, CAN, LIN) and parallel interfaces.  

Education/Experience: 

·        Bachelors or master’s in engineering in the field of Electrical / Electronics & Communications Engineering or equivalent 

·        Experience in hands on automotive electronic product design and development . 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

·        Develop wireless charging solutions from concept to prototypes. Added advantage if any experience into wireless power transferring products, inductive coil design etc. 

·        Experience with design for EMC compliance and related EMI issue resolution 

·        Experience in board bring-up and prototype testing 

·        Experience on communication protocols like CAN, LIN, I2C & SPI etc. 

·        Experience with schematic capture and layout techniques using Altium Designer. 

·        Strong background of design support tools, including simulation, WCCA (worst case circuit analysis), DFMEA, design reviews, 

·        Thorough documentation and revision control practices 

·        Create custom electrical/electronic designs for automotive applications 

·        Create/complete block diagrams, schematics, PCB layout, component selection, worst case circuit analysis, testing, and design verification 

·        Develop design validation plans (DVP), obtain customer approval, and initiate all laboratory, bench, and simulated product-tests in compliance with the DVP 

·        Support customer’s in-vehicle tests on electrical hardware systems 

·        Use risk reduction tools to perform simulations 

·        Use knowledge of material costs and costing processes to determine the impact on designs 

·        Design for maximum cost effectiveness while meeting all customer performance requirements 

·        Ensure that the product design complies with all product requirements and final customer specifications 

·        Interface with the intra departmental development teams such as electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and marketing 

·        Support mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and quality in the development and implementation of work instructions for new and ongoing products 

·        Interface with customers and other Molex engineering groups and suppliers 

·        Lead design review meetings 

·        Understand, support, and contribute to current Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures
