Who We Are Looking For:
Molex is seeking a dynamic Mechanical Engineering Lead to be part of our
strong Engineering Team to develop new products (connectors and cable
assemblies for industrial solutions) that we are bringing to market. You
will be a part of our engineering team in India and collaborate
internationally with our design teams.
We seek someone who not only has a solid background in Industrial
communication or Automotive but also shines in leading and mentoring
team members through stellar communication. Strong communication skills
are a must-have for this position, one who is a great communicator and
capable of articulating complex concepts clearly.
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s or master’s in engineering in the field of Mechanical
Engineering.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in product design and development in
Industrial communication or Automotive based Projects. Experience in
connector design and development is preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisor role.
Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Engineering Lead, you may be part of:

Build, lead, and develop a team of 5–6 mechanical product engineers,
providing technical guidance, mentorship, and career development
support.

Define team priorities, assign work, establish clear roles and
expectations, and ensure effective execution of engineering projects
and sustenance activities.

Drive product engineering activities for high-speed connector and
cable solutions, including feasibility assessments, design support,
product enhancements, and technical problem-solving.

Collaborate with global engineering teams on new product development,
design improvements, cost reduction, and sustaining engineering
initiatives.

Develop and release robust CAD models and manufacturing drawings with
advanced GD&T in compliance with Molex drawing standards, while
mentoring engineers on design best practices.

Partner with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, product management, and
program management teams to ensure successful product launches and
ongoing product support.

Interface with customers and suppliers as needed to provide technical
support, resolve design and manufacturing issues, and ensure
engineering objectives are achieved.

Lead continuous improvement initiatives, product issue resolution,
disposition activities, and manufacturing support to improve product
quality, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Support engineering investigations, measurement data analysis, and
validation activities in collaboration with global teams.

Evaluate emerging technologies, industry standards, and regulatory
requirements relevant to connector and cable products to support
innovation and engineering excellence.

Foster a customer-focused, innovative, and accountable engineering
culture while ensuring effective resource utilization and project
execution.
Required Skills

Experience leading, mentoring, and developing engineering teams.
- Strong experience in connector and cable assembly design.

Experience designing plastic, sheet metal, cast, and plated
components.
- Advanced proficiency in 2D/3D CAD, preferably Siemens NX.
- Exposure to Teamcenter PLM and Polarion is an advantage.

Strong knowledge of product development and change management
processes.

Advanced knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and stack-up studies.
- Working knowledge of DFMEA and DFM/DFA principles.

Ability to independently lead design projects and meet schedules.

Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills (8D, RCA).
- Experience working with cross-functional and global teams.

Strong technical leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to simplify and explain complex technical concepts.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).
