Your Job
Lead the development and validation of plastic, rubber, and metal
components and their tooling for New Product Development (NPD) sourcing
initiatives. You will partner with suppliers to run mold trials, qualify
new molds and processes, troubleshoot molding defects, and drive process
and productivity improvements that ensure parts meet design, quality, and
regulatory requirements.
Our Team
You will join the Sourcing Engineering team that supports NPD and
production ramp-up across Molex. The team works closely with product
engineering, quality, and external suppliers to ensure robust,
manufacturable tooling and repeatable molding processes
What You Will Do
-
Lead end-to-end tool and component development for plastic, rubber,
and metal parts in NPD sourcing programs, ensuring manufacturability
and supplier readiness.
-
Own mold trial planning, new mold validation, and process
qualification at supplier locations to secure first-time-right part
release.
-
Diagnose and resolve molding defects (e.g., short shots, flash, sink
marks, burn marks, warpage) through root-cause analysis and effective
corrective actions that prevent recurrence.
-
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce cycle time,
improve part quality, and increase tooling and process productivity.
-
Ensure supplier processes and delivered parts adhere to applicable
quality, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
-
Collaborate cross-functionally (design engineering, quality,
procurement, suppliers) to transfer designs into reliable production
and to support cost and lead-time optimization.
-
Mentor/coach supplier tooling teams and junior engineers on best
practices in tool making, mold trial execution, and troubleshooting
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

Diploma in Tool & Die Making (NTTF preferred) OR a relevant
engineering degree.
-
5–10 years of hands-on experience in tool and component development
and supplier-based mold trials/validation.
-
Strong practical knowledge of tool design, manufacturing, and tooling
processes for plastic, rubber, and metal parts.
-
Proven experience troubleshooting molding defects and implementing
corrective/preventive actions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and willingness to travel
to supplier locations as required
