As a senior Individual Contributor, you will
own the technical vision and execution
of Splunk services, influencing enterprise-wide observability without direct
people management responsibilities.
Role Overview
As a
Splunk Service & Architecture Specialist
, you will be responsible for the
end-to-end architecture, engineering, and optimization
of Splunk services, including log management, metrics collection, alerting,
and dashboarding across infrastructure and application domains.
You will work closely with Information Security, Infrastructure, and
Application teams to
design secure, scalable, and high-performing observability solutions
.
Splunk services are delivered through a managed service provider, and you will
act as the
technical owner and SME
, ensuring service quality, architectural alignment, and continuous
improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Engineering Ownership
-
Define, design, and evolve the
Splunk architecture roadmap
aligned with enterprise IT strategy.

Architect scalable solutions across
Splunk Enterprise, Splunk Cloud, and ITSI
environments.

Drive platform optimization including
data ingestion, indexing strategies, search performance, and cost
efficiency
.

Implement and enhance
automation, standardization, and self-service capabilities
.
Service Excellence & Optimization
-
Act as the
technical owner of the Splunk platform
, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability.

Monitor and optimize
data ingestion pipelines, search efficiency, and platform health
.

Identify and drive
continuous improvement initiatives
based on usage analytics and system performance.

Define and enforce
best practices for logging, monitoring, and observability
across teams.
Vendor & Managed Service Collaboration
-
Partner with the managed service provider as a
technical authority
, ensuring adherence to architecture standards and service expectations.

Review and validate
SLA/KPI performance from a technical standpoint
, driving improvements where needed.

Provide deep technical guidance and challenge solutions to ensure
engineering excellence
.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborate with
Information Security, Infrastructure, and Application teams
to integrate observability into all layers of the stack.

Support teams in
onboarding, use-case development, and dashboarding
.

Act as a
subject matter expert (SME)
for observability across the enterprise.
Incident & Problem Management
-
Act as a
technical escalation point
for complex incidents related to Splunk and observability platforms.

Perform
root cause analysis (RCA)
and implement long-term fixes.

Drive proactive monitoring and
shift-left strategies
to reduce incidents.
Compliance & Governance
-
Ensure observability solutions comply with
security, privacy, and regulatory requirements
.

Establish and maintain
technical governance frameworks and standards
for Splunk usage.
Team & Reporting
-
Operates as a
senior individual contributor and technical authority
within the organization.

Works closely with global teams across Information Security, Infrastructure,
and Applications.

Reports to Digital Infrastructure Leadership.

Influences stakeholders and drives decisions through
technical expertise and thought leadership

Profile Requirements
-
15+ years of overall IT experience
, with at least 5+ years in observability/monitoring/log analytics
platforms.

Strong hands-on expertise in:

Splunk Enterprise & Splunk Cloud

Splunk ITSI and integrations
-
Data onboarding, parsing, indexing, and search optimization
-
Proven experience working with
managed service providers in a technical oversight capacity

Deep understanding of
ITIL processes and service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to
debug complex, large-scale systems
.

Experience in
automation (Python/Shell), APIs, and infrastructure integrations
is highly preferred.
