Your Job
As a software engineer you will employ Python and innovative development
techniques, working collaboratively with other team members and our global
manufacturing centers to build software solutions to solve challenges in any
areas of the business. Contribute to the end-to-end design process, from
requirements gathering and architectural planning to implementation, testing,
and deployment. To succeed in this role a candidate must utilize
entrepreneurial thinking and a strong passion for software engineering.
Our Team
You will be part of the DSS-CSBU division, collaborating with various
cross-functional teams and global manufacturing centers to deliver impactful
software solutions. This role requires self-directed Sr Software Engineer to
build/customize desktop software solutions to support development, engineering
efficiency & testing at manufacturing for cutting edge high-speed electrical
interconnects.
What You Will Do

Demonstrate strong understanding of the full software design lifecycle,
ensuring alignment from initial concept through delivery and ongoing
support.

Utilize software expertise and entrepreneurial thinking to address
challenges in any area of the business including design, manufacture, test,
verification, and more.

Work closely with mechanical, electrical / Signal Integrity (SI) engineers,
quality team and manufacturing spocs to build desktop software solutions to
test and verify high speed electrical performance of multi gigabits cable
assemblies.

Create desktop software (Python) to streamline, optimize, and add
capabilities to our global manufacturing centers.

Develop software Architecture / Algorithm for new test methods, Libraries
and customized tools.

Evaluate new opportunities for software solutions to solve existing problems
by actively engaging with teams throughout Molex including marketing,
design, manufacturing, and quality teams.
- Drive new improvement ideas.

Collaborate with the various engineering teams to identify and build Python
software to improve the engineering design process through enhanced design
tools, data analysis tools, and various engineering efficiency tools.
- Mentor team members & others on software design best practices.

Show a strong passion for learning and software to ensure skills are kept up
to date with the latest technologies.

Collaborate with our global manufacturing centers to ensure released
software is well supported and issues are addressed quickly.

Create and execute test plans, conduct thorough software reviews, analyze
and resolve failure modes and document results.

Analyze test data, identify quality issues, and perform root cause analysis.

Create product and test system documentation, specifications and work
instructions.

Efficient in verbal and written communication skills demonstrate the ability
to express complex technical concepts clearly and concisely with global
teams.
- Work with team to complete projects with minimal supervision.
- Experience in Python, JIRA, Gitlab.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or
related field.

5-8 years of experience with a strong exposure of software development with
Python.

Advanced proficiency in Python, including experience with relevant libraries
and frameworks, and writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

Familiarity with modern software architecture patterns and development
methodologies.
