Job Description – Analyst – Finance & Profit Analytics
Your Job
As an Analyst – Finance & Profit Analytics, you will support the
Profit Analytics (PA) function
by delivering accurate, decisionready profitability insights across products,
customers, plants,
and business units within a manufacturing environment.
You will combine strong financial acumen with analytics and business
partnering to help leaders
understand margin drivers, cost dynamics, and performance outcomes, enabling
better
decisionmaking across the enterprise.
Our Team
You will be part of the Profit Analytics (PA) team, a global finance analytics
group that partners
closely with Product Leaders, Business Finance, FP&A, Supply Chain,
and Commercial teams.
The team focuses on creating margin transparency, strengthening
accountability, and enabling
scalable, datadriven insights that support enterprise value creation.
What You Will Do
Partner with Product Leaders, Business Finance, FP&A, Supply Chain,
and Commercial
teams to deliver endtoend profitability and margin insights across products,
customers, plants, and regions.
Analyze and explain COGS and margin movements, including material, labor,
overhead, PPV/POV, inventory impacts, and profit in inventory.
Collaborate with business finance, plant costing, and operations teams to
interpret
costing drivers, BOM routing logic, and material consumption, leveraging
subjectmatter experts as needed.
Analyze data from SAP (CO, MM, PP) and nonSAP sources to support PA
dashboards,
analytics tools, and leadership reviews.
Develop and maintain analytical data models to enable scalable profitability
reporting,
scenario analysis, and decision support.
Act as a finance business partner by translating complex analytics into
clear insights,
tradeoffs, and recommendations for stakeholders.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance across PA calculations,
assumptions, and outputs.
Work crossfunctionally to resolve data gaps, improve methodologies, and
continuously
enhance the value delivered by PA insights.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
CA / CMA / MBA / M.Com with 4–8 years of experience in Profit Analytics,
Manufacturing Finance, FP&A, Costing, or Operations Finance.
Strong understanding of the manufacturing income statement, cost buildup,
and
COGS mechanics.
Working knowledge of SAP (CO, MM, PP preferred) and ability to navigate
financial and
operational data.
Strong analytical skills with experience working on large, complex datasets.
Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience presenting insights in a clear,
structured
manner.
What Will Put You Ahead
Experience in profitability or margin analytics within a manufacturing
environment.
Exposure to data modeling and analytics enablement for finance use cases.
Working knowledge of SQL and/or Python for data extraction and analysis.
Experience with Power BI or other visualization tools.
Ability to simplify complex costing concepts and influence decisions through
strong
communication and storytelling.
