About the Role
The role involves leading the Analog Design team both technically and managerially, with responsibility for defining and delivering analog and mixed-signal IPs and blocks from feasibility studies through qualification and production. The successful candidate will lead the development of advanced AMS IPs for next-generation systems, with a focus on low power, small area, and high performance.
Key responsibilities include specification discussions with SoC teams and customers, feasibility analysis, design and verification of IPs and blocks, customer support during SoC integration, silicon analysis, and CAD-to-silicon correlation. The role also requires driving innovation and developing new architectures to achieve best-in-class PPA (Power, Performance, and Area).
Key Responsibilities-
• Lead the development of advanced AMS IPs and blocks, including specification definition, feasibility analysis, design, and verification.
• Understand functional, performance, and integration requirements.
• Use EDA tools effectively for AMS design and development.
• Develop and maintain circuits according to specifications.
• Engage with customers and support IP integration activities.
• Drive knowledge sharing within the team.
• Perform silicon debugging and analysis.
• Innovate and develop new architectures to achieve best-in-class PPA.
• Provide technical leadership across multiple analog teams, defining methodology, tooling, and reuse strategies.
• Own the escalation and resolution of critical technical issues, including specification ambiguities, cross-team dependencies, and schedule-critical bugs.
• Represent the analog domain from Noida in program-level reviews, providing risk assessments, sign-off readiness, and closure confidence.
• Mentor and develop senior and mid-level analog engineers, building technical depth within the team.
• Evaluate and drive adoption of new tools, flows, and AI-assisted techniques to improve productivity and quality.
• Collaborate with external vendors and EDA partners to resolve tool and methodology challenges.
Required Skills-
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering (VLSI specialization preferred).
• 15+ years of experience in analog design.
• Strong expertise in Circuit Theory, Signal Processing, and Control Systems.
• Good understanding of CMOS and VLSI technologies, including device physics, layout effects, and sub-micron effects.
• Expertise in ADC design and architectures such as SAR, Pipeline, Flash, and Sigma Delta, and/or Power Management Blocks and/or Clock Generation IPs.
• Strong understanding of noise, mismatch, and other analog effects, including their impact on IP and system performance.
• Proficiency with AMS design tools such as Cadence Virtuoso/OA, PLS, Spectre, Eldo, XA, MATLAB, and related EDA tools.
• Strong debugging and analysis skills.
• Good understanding of ESD from an IP design perspective.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong understanding of image sensor interfaces and imaging SoC architecture.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical discussions and drive alignment across design and architecture teams.
• Exposure to AI/ML-assisted techniques to improve productivity and efficiency.
Preferred / Good to Have-
• Experience in Analog IP modeling.
• Adaptable, flexible, creative, and capable of working independently as well as within a team.
• Strong sense of urgency and ownership.
• Solution-oriented, quality-driven, execution-focused, and customer-focused mindset.
• Patents and publications in Analog Design.
• Ability to drive innovation and develop new architectures.
Soft Skills-
• Strong technical leadership with the ability to influence and set direction across teams.
• Excellent judgment in balancing schedule, risk, and verification requirements for sign-off decisions.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to present technical risks clearly to senior management.
• Structured and logical approach to problem-solving and root-cause analysis.
• Passion for mentoring and developing technical talent.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional, globally distributed environment.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to drive closure under deadlines.
• Collaborative approach to working with design, architecture, and cross-functional teams.
• Exposure to AI/ML-assisted verification techniques to improve productivity and efficiency.
What We Offer-
• A high-impact technical leadership role shaping the strategy for next-generation image sensor SoCs.
• Direct influence over methodology, tooling, and technical direction across the organization.
• Opportunity to work at the intersection of imaging, connectivity, and security IP.
• Mentorship and people-development opportunities as a manager.
• A collaborative environment with global design, architecture, and EDA partner teams.
