Junior Engineer / Engineer – Shift In Charge

1. Job Purpose
To ensure reliable and efficient mechanical maintenance of shop-floor equipment and utilities through preventive
maintenance, breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment inspection, maintenance planning, and continuous
improvement, while minimizing downtime and ensuring safe operation.

2. Key Responsibilities
1. Provide equipment maintenance and technical support for Hobbing, Shaving, Shaper, CNC, and other gear
manufacturing equipment. Carry out equipment inspection, maintenance planning, troubleshooting, documentation,
continuous improvement, and participate in training and development programs to enhance technical skills and
knowledge.
2. Carry out mechanical maintenance of machines and utilities.
3. Perform mechanical maintenance of HT Sealed Quench Furnaces, washing machines, and tempering equipment.
4. Carry out mechanical maintenance of Shot Blasting Machines.
5. Attend and rectify machine breakdowns effectively to minimize downtime.
6. Carry out preventive maintenance of machines as per the approved maintenance plan.
7. Ensure timely and accurate completion of machine log books and maintenance records.
8. Maintain 5S standards on machines and in the assigned work area.
9. Provide necessary support to senior engineers and maintenance personnel.
10. Participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement activities.
11. Ensure awareness and prevention of oil, paint, and other hazardous material spillages and maintain proper
housekeeping.
12. Ensure proper use of PPEs and compliance with applicable safety procedures.

3 . Required Skills
1. Good knowledge of mechanical maintenance of industrial machinery.
2. Ability to troubleshoot and rectify mechanical breakdowns.
3. Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and maintenance planning.
4. Basic knowledge of Hobbing, Shaving, Shaper, CNC, Grinding, Washing, Tempering, and Shot Blasting equipment.
5. Ability to maintain maintenance records and machine log books.
6. Good understanding of 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement practices.
7. Awareness of industrial safety, hazardous material handling, and PPE requirements.
