Engineer - Maintenance

Job Purpose -
To ensure efficient maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability of production machines and
electrical systems through effective preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance
activities, ensuring minimum downtime and uninterrupted production operations.

Functional / Technical Skills -
 Knowledge of machine maintenance, PLC programming, CNC, VMC, Hobbing, Gear Shaper,
Gear Grinding, Forging Machines, and Power Skiving machines.
 Good understanding of Fanuc, Siemens, and Mazatrol control systems.
 Experience in the automobile gear manufacturing industry.
 Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
 Understanding of B/D %, MTTR, and MTBF calculations.
 Knowledge of Why-Why analysis and root cause analysis techniques.
 Ability to communicate machine-related issues effectively with OEMs through email and
technical discussions.
 Knowledge of electrical panels, drives, sensors, PLC troubleshooting, hydraulics, and
pneumatics.
 Ability to read electrical drawings and troubleshoot control circuits.

Key Responsibilities
 Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities for machines and
utilities.
 Troubleshoot PLC, CNC, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
 Minimize machine downtime through effective fault diagnosis and corrective actions.
 Monitor machine health and maintain maintenance records, checklists, and breakdown
history.
 Coordinate with OEMs and service engineers for technical support and issue resolution.
 Perform root cause analysis for recurring machine failures and implement corrective actions.
 Support installation, commissioning, and improvement projects related to machines and
automation systems.
 Ensure availability of critical spare parts and proper maintenance planning.
 Maintain safety standards and ensure safe work practices during maintenance activities.
 Provide technical guidance and support to junior maintenance team members.

Accountability-
 Machine uptime and reduction in breakdown frequency.
 Timely completion of preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
 Reliability and performance of machines and electrical systems.
 Proper documentation of maintenance activities and breakdown analysis.
 Compliance with safety standards and maintenance procedures.
 Effective coordination with production and external service providers.

Authority-
 Authority to stop machines in case of unsafe conditions or major technical issues.
 Authority to recommend maintenance improvements, spare parts, and technical
modifications.
 Authority to allocate maintenance tasks to technicians and junior team members.
 Authority to suggest actions for improving machine reliability and maintenance efficiency.
