Job Description: Vice President – Operations

Position Overview
The Vice President – Operations will be responsible for end-to-end
management of all operational functions, including Production, Project
Management, Quality Assurance, Design & Engineering, Procurement, and
Logistics. The role involves driving operational excellence, ensuring timely
project delivery, maintaining high product quality, optimizing costs, and
aligning operations with the company’s strategic growth objectives (domestic
and international).
· Oversee daily plant operations to ensure on-time, cost-effective, and quality production.
· Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, TPM and continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and reduce wastage.
· Ensure preventive maintenance, manpower planning, and optimal utilization of plant capacity.
· Monitor key KPIs such as production efficiency, OEE, downtime, and rejection rates.
· Lead multi-disciplinary teams to plan and execute equipment manufacturing projects within time and budget.
· Develop project execution schedules, monitor progress, and proactively address bottlenecks.
· Coordinate with clients, sales, design, and site teams to ensure seamless execution and handover.
· Establish standardized project management systems, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms.
· Establish and maintain robust Quality Management Systems (QMS) in line with industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASME, CE).
· Drive zero-defect manufacturing culture and implement root cause analysis for non-conformities.
· Ensure compliance with statutory and customer-specific quality requirements.
· Oversee in-process and final inspection protocols and ensure continuous improvement.
· Supervise design & engineering functions to ensure technically accurate, cost-effective, and innovative equipment designs.
· Review and approve key design documents, drawings, and specifications.
· Ensure smooth coordination between design and manufacturing teams to reduce rework and improve manufacturability.
· Promote the adoption of new technologies, automation, and standardization in design.
· Lead procurement strategy for raw materials, bought-out components, and subcontracted services.
· Establish vendor development programs, cost negotiations, and long-term supply partnerships.
· Monitor material planning, inventory levels, and procurement lead times to support uninterrupted production.
· Optimize procurement costs through strategic sourcing and supply chain efficiency.
· Oversee inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials and finished goods.
· Optimize transportation costs and ensure proper packaging, documentation, and compliance for domestic and export shipments.
· Coordinate with sales and project teams for on-time dispatches and installations as per project schedules.
· Lead a multi-functional operations team and develop future leadership pipeline.
· Drive digitalization, automation, and data-driven decision-making in operations.
· Contribute to strategic planning and budgeting for capacity expansion, new product lines, and international projects.

· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering (Master’s or MBA preferred).
· 15–25 years of relevant experience in capital equipment manufacturing (e.g., process equipment, heavy engineering, water/wastewater systems, or similar industries).
· Proven leadership track record in managing operational teams.
· Strong understanding of project execution, quality systems, and supply chain management.
