Job Summary

Accounting and Reporting for the Company’s Investments.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Reconcile investment holdings and activity to supporting reports and custodial accounts.
• Accounting for the Company’s private investment portfolio including equity method investments in renewable energy and limited partnerships.
• Monthly close process - preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, review of trial balance, financial statement preparation including analytics.
• Prepare quarter-end financial reporting packages and schedules.
• Assist with the Company’s SEC filings and NAIC Statements
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and other special projects as needed.   
• Adherence to Company internal controls and accounting policies.
• Provide client assistance as needed for internal and external audits.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience and Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• 3+ years of relevant experience
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• Property and Casualty insurance experience a plus
• Investment accounting experience a plus
• SEC reporting experience a plus
