Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Job Summary:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Bright Money is a pivotal
operations-first leadership role, responsible for owning and scaling the
company's operational engine. This position involves overseeing Core
Operations, Banking Operations, Payments, Compliance, and Customer Success,
ensuring systematic growth and efficiency across all operational functions as
the company embarks on its next phase of hyper-growth.
Key Responsibilities:

Own the strategy, systems, processes, performance, and teams across Bright’s
operational functions.

Build scalable operating models to support rapid growth in customers,
products, transactions, and revenue.

Establish clear SLAs, operating metrics, quality standards, controls, and
governance mechanisms.

Oversee transaction processing, settlements, payment failures, disputes, and
collections for Banking and Payments Operations.

Manage relationships with banking partners, payment processors, and fintech
partners efficiently.

Implement robust risk management and compliance mechanisms within
operations, ensuring regulatory adherence.

Drive operational budgets, unit economics, and enhancements in customer
satisfaction and service quality.
Requirements:

18+ years of experience in senior operational leadership roles within
fintech, digital-first banking, or consumer technology sectors.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; MBA
from Tier 1 B-schools is highly preferred.

Proven track record of scaling complex, technology-enabled operations
effectively.

Strong understanding of automation, compliance, fraud, KYC, risk management
principles, and process improvement.

Experience leading multiple functions and managing a team of senior leaders.

Solid knowledge of operational budgets, unit economics, and customer-centric
outcomes.
- Prior experience influencing a business-unit P&L is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:

Established career progression through core operations, banking operations,
payments, and compliance roles.

Experience in the U.S. consumer fintech ecosystem is strongly preferred.

Experience in managing customer success initiatives in alignment with
operations, proves beneficial.

Founders, former founders, or those with top-tier consulting backgrounds
will be given preference.
