AVP, Principal Engineer - AI Agent Engineering
Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented AVP, Principal Engineer - AI Agent Engineering to
join our client in the consumer financial services sector. In this role, you
will design and implement innovative AI-driven solutions that enhance
financial accessibility for everyday consumers, contributing significantly to
both individual financial well-being and the growth of small and mid-sized
businesses.
Key Responsibilities:

Build and implement end-to-end AI agents using AWS Strands SDK and Bedrock
AgentCore, focusing on tool orchestration and advanced reasoning methods.

Write clean, testable, modular Python code, ensuring adherence to best
practices such as SOLID principles and appropriate design patterns.

Lead and mentor agile teams, setting engineering standards and conducting
code and design reviews to maintain high-quality outputs.

Own the technical roadmap in collaboration with product management and AI
platform architects, promoting the development of reusable components.

Oversee the deployment and CI/CD processes for agent services using Jenkins
or GitHub Actions, ensuring robust testing and observability throughout.

Implement incident response strategies, leading triages, root cause
analyses, and postmortems while maintaining high reliability standards.

Ensure proper integrations with identity and model gateways, managing API
authentication, logging, and observability seamlessly.
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical
experience.

8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a
leadership role focusing on cloud-based systems.

Expertise in Python, including typing, async programming, and modular
design.

Demonstrated ability to lead design reviews and discussion on architecture
decisions.

Hands-on experience with building agentic/LLM applications and knowledge of
AWS Strands SDK and Bedrock AgentCore SDK.

Strong understanding of RAG fundamentals, including embeddings and hybrid
retrieval techniques.

Proficient in implementing CI/CD pipelines and leveraging best practices in
DevOps/LLMOps.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with FastAPI and cloud service integrations using AWS.

Proven track record of mentoring and developing engineering talent within a
team.

Familiarity with Terraform or CDK for Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
deployments.

Strong pragmatic judgement in applying software design patterns effectively.
