Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Principal Data Engineer who will play a key role in designing, building, and scaling enterprise data platforms. This role requires a strong hands-on technologist with architecture-level expertise who can drive modern data engineering practices and support advanced Data & AI initiatives across the organization.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working closely with leadership teams, architects, and engineering stakeholders to design scalable data solutions and guide strategic technical decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Design and architect scalable data platforms, pipelines, and data architectures for enterprise-level systems.
Build and optimize high-performance data pipelines to support analytics, machine learning, and AI workloads.
Provide hands-on coding expertise in modern data engineering technologies and frameworks.
Lead the technical architecture for data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time data processing systems .
Collaborate with Data Scientists, AI teams, and Product teams to enable AI-driven data solutions.
Establish data governance, data quality, and data security frameworks .
Mentor and guide data engineering teams on best practices and modern data engineering standards.
Work closely with senior leadership and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

15+ years of experience in Data Engineering / Data Platform Engineering.
Strong hands-on coding experience in languages such as Python, Scala, or Java .
Deep expertise in modern data architectures, data lakes, and distributed data systems .
Experience with Big Data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, or similar frameworks .
Strong experience with cloud data platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP).
Experience in building data pipelines for AI/ML workloads .
Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT frameworks, and data orchestration tools .
Proven experience working at Architect / Principal / Staff level roles .

Good to Have

Experience working in the Retail / E-commerce industry .
Exposure to AI/ML data platforms and advanced analytics ecosystems .
Experience presenting technical solutions to leadership or executive teams .
