Cyber Security Engineer
Job Summary:
The Cyber Security Engineer will play a vital role in safeguarding our organization's digital assets through both offensive and defensive security measures. This position focuses on vulnerability discovery, attack simulation, and facilitating effective remediation, working within a dynamic team of cybersecurity experts in Johannesburg.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct penetration testing, ethical hacking, and red teaming to identify potential vulnerabilities within systems.
- Identify security weaknesses and provide actionable recommendations for remediation across various platforms.
- Collaborate with developers to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in the design and implementation of security tools and frameworks for proactive threat management.
- Analyze security events and incidents, providing detailed reports to stakeholders and recommending improvements.
- Support incident response efforts to address security breaches and mitigate impacts on the organization.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and technology trends to ensure best-in-class security practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in penetration testing, ethical hacking, or red teaming methodologies.
- Strong understanding of networks, operating systems, and web applications security.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, or OWASP.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CEH, OSCP, CISSP) are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
