UAV Flight Ops Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level UAV Flight Ops Technician to join our flight operations team. This role offers the opportunity to assist in executing UAV missions, conducting critical inspections, and ensuring safe and compliant drone operations, all while contributing to missions that matter.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide engineering feedback to the multi-disciplinary design teams.
• Conduct flight testing of technical and safety prototypes, including baseline UAV integration and handling all flight safety SOPs.
• Operate UAVs for various missions encompassing testing, training, field operations, and data capture.
• Perform thorough pre-flight inspections, checklists, and system readiness assessments.
• Execute post-flight procedures, including updating flight logs, hardware checks, and data offloading.
• Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), OEM guidelines, and regulatory requirements, maintaining detailed documentation.
• Assist in UAV assembly, disassembly, battery management, and coordinate with the technical team for advanced maintenance troubleshooting.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE).
• Basic knowledge of UAV systems, aviation safety, and remote aircraft operations.
• Ability to understand and follow SOPs, checklists, and technical guidelines effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness in operational settings.
• Good communication skills and teamwork abilities in a collaborative environment.
• Willingness to travel to field locations for mission assignments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands-on drone/UAV/mechanical/avionics experience related to assembly, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with drone hardware and sensors, including motors, ESCs, sensors, and battery management.
• Understanding of flight control systems and ground control software.
• Basic maintenance and repair skills for electronic and mechanical components.
• Working knowledge of flight operations, safety protocols, aviation regulations, and radio communication best practices.
