R&D Manager
Job Summary:
The R&D Manager will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and product development within our organization. This position is responsible for overseeing the formulation and production processes for skincare and hair care products, ensuring high-quality standards and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of product formulation from initial concept to final sign-off, including pilot batch and full-scale production management.
- Lead the development of robust, stable, and effective formulations in collaboration with third-party manufacturers and internal teams.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to support manufacturing operations, product development, and process enhancements.
- Develop innovative formulations based on business demands and market trends, ensuring alignment with consumer needs.
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of skincare and hair care products to manage the development and enhancement of existing formulations.
- Execute technology transfer and scale-up operations for the manufacturing of products, both in-house and through outsourcing.
- Conduct product testing, shelf-life evaluations, and maintain compliance with SOPs, GMP, and laboratory standards.
Requirements:
- B.Tech/M.Tech in Cosmetology, B.Sc./M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry, B.Pharm, or M.Pharm.
- Relevant experience in the personal care industry, particularly in skin and hair care formulations.
- Hands-on experience with surfactant-based formulations and a strong understanding of various ingredients used in hair care products.
- Ability to provide technical leadership and innovation based on scientific principles.
- Strong capacity to navigate through ambiguity and develop solutions in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of regulatory and safety requirements pertinent to cosmetic products.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with a keen attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven track record of successfully developing and launching personal care products.
- Experience with industrial-scale formulation processes and pilot production.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Additional certifications or training in cosmetic science or formulation chemistry.
